FORMER UAAP MVP Bobby Ray Parks has ruled out joining the coming PBA Rookie Draft, saying he plans to continue his rigorous training in the US in pursuit of his NBA dream.

Speaking to reporters after his surprise appearance in the UAAP on Sunday, Parks said he is in town for a vacation and is "not really interested" in the August 24 draft.

"Not really interested in the PBA right now," said Parks. “I'm on vacation right now. I’m really just relaxing. I've been training for three months straight. I want a breather."

Parks said a change of heart is dim.

"I have no idea. I'm not even thinking about it,” said Parks about his future. “I know it’s a big issue right now. It’s funny because if you ask me today, I'm not joining the draft. Like I said, I’m here just enjoying."

Parks saw the National University Bulldogs come away with a 57-55 win over University of the East on Sunday on the invitation of school owner Hans Sy.

Parks said he purposely kept the news of his Philippine vacation under wraps, the reason no PBA team has yet to get in touch with him about the possibility of applying for the PBA Draft.

“They just found out that I’m in town today. I didn’t even announce it on Facebook or Twitter or Instagram that I’m back home," said the son of the late PBA import Bobby Parks.

"All of a sudden, I’m just back home. I was invited by Sir Hans Sy to watch the game so I showed up.”
