A RAINY Friday afternoon heated up as Poy Erram and Michael Miranda came to blows in the PBA preseason game between Blackwater and NLEX at the Caloocan Sports Complex.
The usually mild-mannered Erram of the Elite and NLEX enforcer Miranda figured in a fight late in the third quarter, leaving Miranda’s face bloodied.
Referees had to separate the two big men on the floor as the Road Warriors wound up winning the game, 90-88.
According to witnesses, Erram and Miranda got entangled after a miss on a layup by Ravena, with Erram hitting the NLEX forward with an elbow that opened a cut above one eye.
Miranda retaliated with a punch before cooler heads intervened, witnesses added.
Miranda's cut needed four stiches to close, an NLEX official told SPIN.ph afterwards, but it is not certain if the PBA will act on the matter since the game wasn't part of the league's sanctioned preseason tournament.
