A Barkley will reinforce Blackwater in the season-ending PBA Governors’ Cup.
Kentrell Barkley is taking his act from the Indonesia Basketball League to Asia’s first ever play-for-pay league as he’ll be suiting up for the Bossing in the third and final conference of Season 50.
Coach Pat Aquino said the 29-year-old import will be arriving in the country by next week, giving him at least three weeks to get to know his new team in time for the July 10 opening of the tournament.

Barkley is listed at 6-foot-5, just a shade below the 6-foot-6 height ceiling for imports.
He’s coming over with impressive credentials, having been named IBL MVP and a member of the Mythical Team in 2024, and was the league’s rebounding leader this year while playing for Kesatria Bengawan Solo.
The product of East Carolina went undrafted in the NBA and played for one season in the G. League with Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Barkley later took his act overseas and saw action in Australia, Taiwan, Singapore, and Vietnam.
He was named Best Foreign Player of the Year (2020) in Taiwan’s Super Basketball League, where he also won a championship with Taiwan Beer.
In 2023, he won a championship in the Vietnam Basketball Association, where Barkley emerged as season MVP and finals MVP for the Saigon Heat.
During that same year, he was the scoring champion in the ASEAN Basketball League Invitational Tournament while donning the Singapore Slingers jersey.
