ANTIPOLO – Blackwater will be missing the services of big man Christian David as he’s set to undergo knee arthroscopy.
Coach Pat Aquino disclosed the 28-year-old product of Butler University is likely to miss six weeks or the first round duration of the eliminations in the PBA Governors’ Cup.
David was not around as the Bossing absorbed their first loss of the conference, a 116-114 thriller against the Meralco Bolts Tuesday night at the Ynares Center.

“Magpapalinis siya ng tuhod,” said Aquino. “Kailangan nang gawin habang maaga.”
The no. 2 overall pick in the Season 48 draft, David suited up in Blackwater’s first two games – both wins over Rain or Shine and Magnolia- but his minutes were being managed since he’s dealing with a hurting knee.
“Dinadahan-dahan ko lang,” said Aquino of David’s limited playing time. “So we’ll try to get him back as soon as possible.”
The health issue comes amid the trade talks swirling around David during the off-season.
But Aquino is trying to talk things out with the Fil-Canadian player, stressing he remains an integral part of the Blackwater family despite being mentioned in trade speculations earlier.
“Sabi ko nga sa kanya you just have to feel the game. I don’t want him to just sit down on the bench and just watch,” said the most accomplished women’s basketball coach in the country.
“I want him to feel the game and feel that he’s still part and important to our team.”
