BLACKWATER just tied a PBA record of futility after slumping to yet another defeat on Thursday.
One more loss and the cellar-dweller will own the ignominous record.
The Bossing dropped a 90-73 loss to NLEX for their 10th straight defeat this season and 18th overall dating back to the 2020 bubble season, matching a dubious record set by the Great Taste/Presto franchise in 1980.
Great Taste lost 18 straight matches in the 1980 season in a skid that began in the first nine games of the Open Conference and the first nine games of the All-Filipino Conference.
Blackwater is in danger of surpassing that mark as the Bossing close a disappointing campaign in the Philippine Cup against Meralco on Saturday.
The Bolts will definitely go all out on Saturday especially with the team in search of the last twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.

In fact, Meralco coach Norman Black has already indicated the match against Blackwater as a “big game” in hopes of moving closer to getting that incentive.
Blackwater only led once after Ed Daquioag opened the scoring with a three, but Philip Paniamogan tied the match shortly thereafter and NLEX never trailed again.
The defeat to NLEX saw Simon Enciso and Carl Bryan Cruz scoring 17 and 14 respectively, and rookie Joshua Torralba adding 10 points for Blackwater.
