SEDRICK Barefield’s plantar fasciitis flared up again, forcing him to miss Blackwater’s game against Rain or Shine in the PBA 49th Season Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday.
Head coach Jeff Cariaso said Blackwater is taking a cautious approach on Barefield.
“Plantar uli. ‘Yun ang mahirap sa plantar, off and on,” said Cariaso.
Barefield has already missed two games in a row for Blackwater due to his foot injury, and he was sorely missed as the Bossing bowed to the Elasto Painters, 122-106, on Wednesday. He was also absent in the Bossing's 109-93 loss to TNT last December 19.

Barefield was coming off a 17-point, three-rebound outing against San Miguel, his last appearance for the team last December 15.
The No. 2 pick in the 49th season draft also had a 33-point explosion against Meralco last December 12 in their only win of the conference so far.
Cariaso is unsure on when Barefield will return. Blackwater’s next outing will be against Barangay Ginebra on Sunday.
“Doon ako worried kasi nag-eensayo, one or two days tapos sasakit. We really have to take care of his plantar, therapy,” said Cariaso.
