Blackwater coach Isaac urges his players to learn from Alaska's execution, poise

AS Blackwater sank deeper into the cellar, coach Leo Isaac said his players need only to look at league-leader Alaska to know what they lack.

While Alaska's veteran-laden side showed so much poise and looked so much in control in their execution, the exact opposite happened in Blackwater's offensive sets, rued Isaac.

“We didn’t have control, so yun ang sinulat ko sa white board after the game,” said a frustrated Isaac after the 56-69 defeat to Alaska - the Elite's sixth in as many games in the PBA Philippine Cup.

“I asked them (Elite) if they know the meaning of control kasi, sa nakikita ko kanina, grabe. Kapag nag-execute ang Alaska, they are so much in control, pero pag kami nage-execute, so uncontrolled,” he added.

The numbers bear out Isaac's claim.

Blackwater turned the ball over 19 times, resulting in 18 points for Alaska. The Elite’s big men of Jason Ballesteros, Bryan Faundo and JP Erram were also beaten black and blue by Eric Menk and Co. off both boards, 36-16.

That should give Blackwater players a few points to ponder, Isaac said.

“Sana paghiga nila mamayang gabi, gawin nila yung request ko, and evaluate themsleves and maybe, talk to themselves. Ask themselves why such a dismal performance, eh baka sumagot ang sarili nila,” said Isaac.
