BLACKWATER is considering bringing back George King as early as the next conference after his stellar stint in the PBA Governors’ Cup.
“It’s really a consideration,” said Blackwater coach Jeff Cariaso after the conclusion of their campaign in the Governors’ Cup on Monday. “I think we would be not smart if we don’t even think of that.”
“We will see how it goes. But again, we are happy with George. How he feels about us and the Philippines is how we feel about him. We look forward to working together with him even more,” said Cariaso.
After a 0-3 start for Blackwater, King rescued the Bossing campaign where they were in the thick of the quarterfinal hunt. The Bossing finished with a 5-5 win-loss record, only losing the playoff start on a tiebreak with NLEX.
King finished the Governors’ Cup eliminations in style, scoring a franchise-record 64 points in the Bossing’s 139-118 win over Rain or Shine.

Cariaso hinted a meeting to be held on Tuesday in relation to King’s possible return to for the Commissioner’s Cup, a conference where the league will not impose a height limit for the imports.
“Inuunahan mo ‘yung meeting namin (Tuesday). May meeting pa kami,” said Cariaso in jest.
The good thing for Blackwater is that King is interested to come back for the Bossing. King had also expressed his desire to play for the Gilas Pilipinas national basketball team.

“I am,” said the 6-foot-6 King, when asked if he wants to return. “Like I mentioned, when I said I’m enjoying the Philippines, Blackwater is wrapped up in that as well.”
“Absolutely. Like I mentioned, my accommodations here have been more than great. I would love to. Hopefully, they would want me as well and so that’s something that we will discuss in the near future,” said King.
