BLACKWATER is bringing in a former NBA player to serve as its import in the season-opening PBA Governors’ Cup.
Ricky Ledo will be taking his act to the country for the very first time after previously playing for two NBA teams and suiting up in various leagues around the world.
The 31-year-old import arrived on Tuesday and immediately met with Bossing coach Jeff Cariaso over lunch.
Ledo was a second-round pick of the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2013 draft at No. 43 overall.
He didn’t get to play for the Bucks though, as his playing rights were later traded to Philadelphia, and finally with Dallas.
Incidentally, a number of former PBA imports were part of that 2013 draft class including Shabazz Muhammad (San Miguel and Strong Group Athletics), Glenn Rice Jr (TNT), Tony Mitchell (Magnolia, NLEX), and Jamaal Franklin (Converge).
Ledo plays for Mavs, Knicks
Ledo spent two seasons playing for the Mavericks and their NBA G League affiliate Texas Legends, before being signed by the New York Knicks for the 2015 season.
From there, he left the US to begin an extensive playing career overseas that took him to leagues in Puerto Rico, Spain, Turkey, China, Poland, Taiwan, Lebanon, and Bahrain where he saw action for Al-Muharraq Sports Club just this year.

In a 2019 game in the CBA (Chinese Basketball Association), Ledo erupted for a career-high 54 points in a 126-125 loss by his team, Beikong Royal Fighters against Tianjin.
Ledo also added 15 rebounds and nine assists for the Royal Fighters where had for teammate fellow NBA player and former NLEX import Thomas Robinson.
Ironically, Andray Blatche served as one of Tianjin’s import as the former Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player finished with 37 points, 17 rebounds, and eight assists.
