Blackwater brings in new import Keala King to replace injured Eric Dawson

Sep 1, 2016
Keala King is set to make his Blackwater debut against Phoenix on September 7.

WITH time ticking away, Blackwater has decided to tap the services of Keala King as the team’s new import replacing the injured Eric Dawson.

Team manager Johnson Martinez said King arrived in the country the other night and already practiced with the Elite, who won’t see action until September 7 against Phoenix.

In as much as management wanted to retain Dawson, the team can no longer wait for him to fully recover from the back injury that forced him to miss two of the Elite’s last three games.

Blackwater currently occupies the cellar with a 1-7 card, but remains in the hunt for a playoffs berth with still three games left in its schedule.

“We can no longer wait for him (Dawson). We have to make a move,” said Martinez.

King was once a top high school recruit who had stints with Arizona State University and later, Long Beach State, but never made it to the NBA.
