ANTIPOLO – Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser was emotional shortly after NLEX import DeQuan Jones suffered a gruesome injury during the third quarter of TNT’s game in the PBA 50th Season Governors’ Cup.
Ganuelas-Rosser figured in an unfortunate chain of events that led to the injury to Jones, who was rushed to the hospital after sustaining injuries to his right leg and foot.
BGR fell down on Jones, who appeared to have already injured his right leg as soon as he drove and turned around for a short jumper with 7:27 left in the third quarter.

Unfortunately, the impact of fall seemed to have exacerbated the injury of Jones, who was suspected to have suffered a complete fracture in his right leg.
The 32-year-old Ganuelas-Rosser was saddened that the injury happened to a person like Jones.
“I wasn’t really sure. I haven’t seen the replay or anything. I’m just hoping for the best for him,” Ganuelas-Rosser said when interviewed with reporters after the game that TNT lost in overtime, 118-111.
“You don’t want anything like that to happen. DeQuan is a really nice person. He is a really good import. I just hope for the best. It’s part of the game. It's hard for that to happen,” he said.
The No. 1 pick in the Season 47 Draft in 2022 admitted he was also emotional because of the shock of being involved with such a horrific injury but reiterated that he did not mean to hurt Jones, stating that he's always looked up to the NLEX import.
“I don’t want to be labeled like a dirty player or I did it on purpose or anything like that,” Ganuelas-Rosser said. “Like I said, DeQuan is somebody that I look up to.
“He is somebody that I was literally talking to the day before the game. We saw each other and exchanged pleasantries. He is somebody that I have nothing but admiration for. And I don’t ever want anything like that to happen to him or any other player,” BGR said.
Ganuelas-Rosser somehow picked himself up from the emotions, and played a decent game for TNT when he had 15 points and four rebounds.
He even had a chance to win the game outright during regulation after Robert Bolick’s four-pointer to force a deadlock, but missed two shots from point-blank range.
“Just trying to win the game. Just trying to execute,” Ganuelas-Rosser said.
