BRANDON Ganuelas-Rosser knows that if TNT wants to swing this series back in its favor, it all starts with him playing better.

This, after being limited to just three points in the Tropang 5G’s 108-88 blowout loss to San Miguel in Game 3 of the PBA Philippine Cup finals, Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“It’s just ok. Not good enough. We’re down 2-1, so I’ve got to be better,” Ganuelas-Rosser answered when asked about his performance so far in the finals.

There’s certainly a lot for him to improve on, as he’s been averaging only 8.6 points and 3.6 rebounds, down from his averages of 11 points and 7.5 boards in the Rain or Shine semifinals series. Of course, he has been slowed down by foul trouble in the finals.

The upside in it is that he’s doing a better job as a rim protector for TNT, averaging 3.6 blocks per game.

However, with the uncertainty of Poy Erram returning, BGR knows full well he has to do a lot more than that.

And he’s ready to take on the challenge moving forward.

“It’s unfortunate to not have Poy, but the whole theme of the conference is next man up, the next player up,” he said.

“These are the type of series, and games (why) you push yourself in the offseason. I pushed myself really hard during my rehab. You just have to be ready. You don’t have time to be tired or anything like that. You just have to push through and get to the finish line.”

TNT keeps the faith

While it’s been a terrible stretch for him and for the rest of the Tropang 5G, the 6-foot-6 forward-center remains confident in their chances this series.

San Miguel has all the momentum now, so it’s up to them to wrest it away come the next game.

“There have been a couple of stretches where they’ve outplayed us. The end of the first game, we kind of gave them momentum and they kind of carried it over the last two games,” he said.

“There are stretches in the middle of the game, the last two or three minutes in quarters where we have to finish better. I think we’ll clean it up. We’ll watch film and we just have to take care of the ball better too.
