BRANDON Ganuelas-Rosser celebrated TNT’s first two PBA titles this season in street clothes, as he was still recovering from an ACL injury in the first two conferences.

He’d have to wait a little longer to celebrate while wearing his Tropang 5G jersey.

BGR and the rest of TNT saw their Grand Slam bid crumble after a 107-96 loss to San Miguel in Game 6 of the PBA Philippine Cup finals, Friday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.

Ganuelas-Rosser, who finished with 15 points and four assists in the loss, said that while this loss stung, the fact that he got a chance to play at his best is already an achievement in itself.

“I worked so hard to come back. I was a spectator for two finals and then I was able to play a role in this finals. But it sucks that it wasn't on the winning end, but I'm still proud that I was able to come back and play,” he said.

Not only was he able to come back and play, he held his own against the Beermen's twin towers of June Mar Fajardo and Mo Tautuaa, especially on the defensive end.

And he simply had no words to describe the eight-time MVP, who still had his way despite TNT’s concerted effort to stop him. In the closeout game, Fajardo made 11-of-12 shots from the field.

“He wears on you a lot. He's a big guy, he's mobile, he knows how to get to his spots very good. Hats off to June Mar. He made me a lot better player this series going up against him,” he said.

“All respect to June, everything that comes his way, it's much deserved. Just tonight, he was just too much for us.”

Thank you, next for TNT

With the finals now in the rearview mirror, the Tropang 5G have the luxury to recharge and heal up from various injuries.

With the likes of Rey Nambatac set to return next season and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson also sure to be back in the import conferences, BGR has no doubt they’re gonna be a handful.

“It will be nice to play with Rey, to play with Rondae when he comes back. Nothing to hold our heads down about,” he said.

“I think once we're whole, once we're all together, once we're able to work together, it will be fun. I'm looking forward to it.”
