BRANDON Ganuelas-Rosser had 10 points and two rebounds last Friday - paltry numbers at first glance - but the TNT big man had a major task in Game 2 of the PBA 50th Season Commissioner’s Cup.
BGR was the first to defend RJ Abarrientos, with Chris McCullough and Kelly Williams also taking their turns against Barangay Ginebra's top local scorer.
Abarrientos had a slow start where he scored only a point, one of the contributing factors in the Tropang 5G's 101-94 win to even the series.

Ganuelas-Rosser, however, played down his role in containing the Gin Kings guard since the latter still wound up with 21 points, even leading his side's attempt at a rally once his shots started to fall.
“He still ended up with 20-plus, I think he still got his average,” said the 6-foot-6 big man of his job defending the 5-foot-11 Abarrientos.
Same-same for Game Three?
BGR said their defensive mindset in Game 2 was a team effort which they intend to continue doing in Game 3.
“He’s a talented scorer, probably the best scorer in the league right now. He is in such a flow state with shooting the ball, so you are just trying to make it difficult, trying to give him difficult looks. It’s a team effort guarding a player like him,” he said.
“We have a scouting report and a defensive game plan, so I was just making sure that I’m locked into that and just making sure that I’m always communicating and just playing hard. Like I said, it was a team effort.”
