FINALLY, LA Revilla picked up a win against Rain or Shine in his PBA career.
Revilla was hands-down the happiest player on the floor after Phoenix picked up a 103-97 win over Rain or Shine at the Cuneta Astrodome since it was his first ever against the Elasto Painters in his five-year career.
“Personally, happy ako. Hindi ko pa natatalo Rain or Shine,” said the former La Salle star, who prior to joining Phoenix, had stints with the GlobalPort and Columbian franchise in his PBA career that started in 2013.
Not only did Revilla finally put one over Rain or Shine, he also played a key role in the win. The cat-quick guard had 13 points, four rebounds, and six assists, and score seven points when the Fuel Masters put the win away in the final quarter.
Revilla also hit a three-pointer that practically sealed the win for Phoenix, 98-93.
“As a team, we are also happy na natalo namin Rain or Shine. Sabi nga ni coach, it’s hard to play against a team na walang pressure. For us, it was a character-building win for us especially coming to the playoffs,” said Revilla.
But to go deeper in the playoffs, the Fuel Masters, Revilla said, cannot afford to have the lackluster start they had against the Elasto Painters.
“Hindi kami puwedeng magkaroon ng ganung start o ganun ka-flat all throughout tapos pick up na lang sa fourth quarter. Kailangan, we have to learn especially isang game na lang, playoffs na. Alam namin na iba ‘yung playoffs. We just have to learn from it.”
