BEAU BELGA wants to remain a part of Gilas Pilipinas in the 2014 Fiba World Cup, even if he will continue to be a reserve player.
Belga was the final cut in the Philippine team to the 2013 Fiba-Asia Championship, but remained a part of the delegation to the very end as he served as a practice player in the side that finished second behind Iran to earn the trip to Spain next year.
Given the chance, the wide-bodied Rain or Shine big man still wants to be a part of the team in whatever capacity for the World Cup.
Walang problema.”
Known as a tough guy for Rain or Shine in the PBA, Belga admitted that he too struggled to contain his emotions after Gilas defeated Korea in the semifinal round.
Kita mo ‘yung suporta. Mahirap i-explain ‘yung tuwa at saya.
Belga said he was proud to be part of the team.
