AFTER a lackluster Philippine Cup campaign, the Star Hotshots will try to get back on track as it sees action on opening day of the 2016 PBA Commissioner’s Cup on February 10 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Reinforced by former Best Import Denzel Bowles, Star will go up against the Meralco Bolts in the 7 pm double-header. Meralco will be bannered by Malcolm Thomas, a 6-9 journeyman with NBA experience, the last with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Prior to the Star-Meralco 7 p.m. game, TNT Tropang Texters will face off with the Blackwater Elite in the 4:15 p.m. match.
On February 12, it’s Barangay Ginebra’s turn a to take to the court versus the NLEX Road Warriors in the 7 p.m. game showcased by NBA veterans — NLEX will have the services of 6-8 ‘balik import’ Al Thornton while 6-5 swingman Othyus Jeffers will be suiting up for Ginebra.
GlobalPort Batang Pier will try to draw first blood at the expense of the Mahindra Enforcers in the first game.
