BEAU Belga is already looking forward to the coming PBA Commissioner’s Cup as he considers a big challenge going up against this season’s batch of bigger and stronger imports.
Two weeks before the midseason fires off, Belga is back in the gym as he tries to get back in game shape after taking a short break in Baguio City following the ouster of Rain or Shine from the Philippine Cup semifinals.
The 28-year-old Belga said competition will be tougher for him since he’s expected to take on the imports of opposing teams, some of whom are former NBA players, the most notable being NLEX reinforcement Al Thornton.
“Yung NLEX, siyempre, nandiyan si Al Thornton. Talagang macha-challenge talaga ako sa kanya kasi ex-NBA player iyan eh,” he said.
This early, Belga has already issued a warning to Thornton.
Makikita mo nga sa (Philippine Cup) Finals ngayon,” he said with a smile.
