AMID reports of discontent at Rain or Shine, Beau Belga let his game do the talking in the Elasto Painters' 90-84 win over Meralco on Friday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.
With talk rife about Belga and two other players wanting out of the team, the burly 6-4 forward affirmed his commitment to play well for the team by putting together a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds to go along with three assists.
For Belga, it's all about being professional
"Yung mga ganung bagay hindi ko na control yun," said Belga. "Talagang ako, I'm with Rain or Shine as of now and I need to play kasi sila 'yung mga boss sa Rain or Shine ang nagbibigay sa akin ng pangkain sa family ko."
However, Belga said in the event he will be shipped to another team, he will completely undertand that it's all part of being a professional basketball player.
"Kung gusto nila ako i-trade, wala naman ako magagawa doon," said the former NCAA star out of Philippine Christian University, "pero as of now I'm with Rain or Shine and I need to play well for them."
Belga saw the rousing win as proof of the players' willingness to stay together and give their best for the franchise co-owned by Terry Que and Raymond Yu.
"Kailangan namin 'yung panalo e. Pag natalo kami, babagsak kami sa ilalim. Yung willingness namin na maglaro today and talagang ginusto namin manalo kasi ayaw namin talaga bumagsak sa ilalim."
