BEAU Belga was fined P20,000 for his hit on Jason Perkins in the two teams’ PBA Governors Cup game last week.
The burly Rain or Shine big man was summoned by the Commissioner’s Office a day after the incident that took place early in the first quarter of the Elasto Painters’ 86-84 win over the Phoenix Pulse at the Astrodome.
No suspension was meted though, enabling Belga to suit up for the team’s game against Alaska on Sunday.
Belga was whistled for a flagrant foul penalty 2 for an outright ejection after elbowing Perkins just above the chest with just five minutes gone in the first quarter.

The 32-year-old veteran said he was surprised to be called for an F2.
“Expected ko F1 (Flagrant Foul Penalty 1), Ok lang. Pero F2, dun ako nabigla,” admitted Belga, who spent the rest of the game inside the team dugout.
“Pero wala kaming magagawa doon. Sabi ko nga, it’s their judgment. They are the referees, I’m not the referee.”
Coach Caloy Garcia also thought Belga wasn't deserving of an F2.
"From what I saw, puwedeng flagrant 1. Pero flagrant 2, I don't understand," he said.
But Garcia described the act as a 'stupid move' by Belga.
"I don't know why he had to do that," said the Rain or Shine mentor.
