ANTIPOLO – Beau Belga is bracing for the worst and fears he's done for the season after sustaining an injury on Friday in Rain or Shine’s loss to Columbian.
Belga said he has been dealing with a plantar fasciitis injury for some time, but fears he has sustained a full rupture in the first quarter of the Elastopainters’ 100-84 loss to the Dyip in the PBA Governors’ Cup.
“Wala eh, ganun talaga. Kasama sa laro ‘yun. Papa-check up bukas, let’s see kung ano puwedeng gawin. Tingnan kung makakalaro,” said Belga.
Belga said he has been bothered by the injury for some time now.
“Nailalaro ko siya. Masakit. Kailangan kasi, matuluyuan ‘to na mapunit para magtuluy-tuloy ‘yung pag-galing,” said Belga.
Belga said he is bracing for the worst but is also hoping for the best.
“I think so,” Belga said when asked if there is a possibility that he will miss the remainder of the season. “Pero meron pa naman. Hindi pa naman zero visibility. Titignan pa kung ano puwedeng gawin.”
Belga felt bad about the injury as it came at a time when Rain or Shine was starting to recover from a 0-4 start to the Governors’ Cup.
Belga was also coming off a 21-point, 12-rebound game against NorthPort last Friday.
“Nanghihinayang ako. Sabi ko, kung kailan maayos na laro ko, saka na-injury. Check-up bukas, hihintayin ‘yung assessment ng doctor,” said Belga.
“Sa next game na lang,” he added.
