BEAU Belga is displaying an uncanny way of shooting free throws nowadays.
The veteran Rain or Shine big man is using jone hand in taking - and making - foul shots just as he did in the Elasto Painters’ PBA Commissioner’s Cup game against the TNT Tropang Giga on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
And the good thing about it: he’s converting those free throws despite changing his stroke from the 15-foot line.
Fouled by TNT import Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson, Belga made his foul shots one-handed, giving Rain or Shine a 56-48 lead with 4:22 to go just before halftime.
It’s not exactly the first time the 37-year-old center did the trick as he already displayed the same foul shooting style during the team’s 116-105 win over Terrafirma last Dec. 23.
The bulky center finished a perfect 5-of-5 from the stripe in the Elasto Painters' 119-112 win over TNT - their fifth straight win after a 0-5 start.
In the NBA, Jeremy Sochan of the San Antonio Spurs has also been shooting his free throws with just a single hand.
