BASER Amer signed a new contract with Blackwater on Thursday.
The veteran guard agreed to a one-year deal with the Bossing which he signed in the presence of team manager Johnson Martinez and representative Danny Espiritu at Dylan Patisserie in Quezon City.
The 30-year-old guard from Davao is entering unrestricted free agency, having been picked no. 7 overall by Meralco in 2015 draft, which is the second batch of rookies eligible to become UFA.
But by signing for one season with the Bossing, Amer could exercise the rights by next year already.
Amer was acquired by Blackwater in a trade with Meralco for Mac Belo and Byran Faundo.
In his stint with the Bossing, he averaged 7.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists.
Along with JVee Casio, Amer comprised Blackwater's solid backcourt and helped the team reached a playoffs berth in the last Philippine Cup.
