BASER Amer said he treated Wednesday’s game against TNT KaTropa as any other game. Never mind if he is rumored to be joining the KaTropa soon in a trade.
Amer scored 10 of his 17 points in the third quarter, sparking the final push that gave the Bolts an 88-77 win over the KaTropa in the PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday night at the Astrodome in Pasay City.
The former San Beda star did it while not even thinking about the reported three-team trade supposedly involving him, Blackwater rookie pick Ray Parks and the KaTropa's injured guard Jericho Cruz.
“Wala naman kasi nasa Meralco ako at excited ako sa mga darating na games,” said Amer, who under the terms of the reported deal, is supposed to go to TNT so Meralco can get its hands on Parks.
The Bolts trailed, 13-0, to start the game and fell behind by as many as 21 points, but Amer said Meralco coach Norman Black never lost faith even if the team converted only 29 percent of its shots in the first half.
