BLACKWATER signed veteran guard Baser Amer to a contract extension until the end of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The old deal of the 31-year-old Amer lasts until Dec. 31, but with two games left in the Bossing’s schedule, both parties agreed to stay status quo until the conclusion of the team’s campaign.
Danny Espiritu, who represents Amer, said a new round of negotiations will be made once Blackwater has played all of its games.

Team owner Dioceldo Sy said the franchise is willing to renew the guard out of San Beda University who has played for the Bossing the last two seasons.
His stint with Blackwater however, has been mostly marred by injuries, including in the ongoing conference where he suited up for limited games due to a hurting calf.
He only played in three games so far, averaging 3.6 points in 11.3 minutes of playing.
Nonetheless, he’s expected to still see action in the Bossing’s final two games against Northport and San Miguel. Blackwater is currently on an eight-game slide for a 1-8 record and already out of the running for a playoff berth.
But while Amer stays with Blackwater for the moment, the same can’t be said of Fil-Am guard Rashawn McCarthy.
He was earlier put in the Unrestricted Free Agent list with rights to salary to make way for rookie Archie Concepcion, but was not been offered a new contract after his last one expired at the end of 2023.
Sy thanked McCarthy for the services he rendered to the franchise the last two seasons.
Both Amer and McCarthy joined the rest of the Blackwater team during its recent Christmas party.
