BASER Amer is hardly worried that his draft stock might drop because of his shoulder injury as he has finally decided on Wednesday to be part of the rookie class.
The San Beda star playmaker has submitted his application for the draft two days before the deadline for locals, despite being out with a dislocated shoulder that has sidelined him from the Red Lions’ NCAA campaign since the middle of July.
Amer, arguably the best pure point guard from the amateur ranks today, said his orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Raul Canlas, believes he will be healthy enough in time for the Draft on August 23.
“May go signal naman from Dr. Canlas na magiging okay na ako by then because hindi naman serious ang injury ko,” the Davao native said.
Amer is expected to be one of the top point guard picks along with Gilas Cadet teammates Scottie Thompson and Almond Vosotros.
