BARANGAY Ginebra beat Phoenix Pulse, 91-86, on Thursday in a tune-up game at The Upper Deck.
Japeth Aguilar had 19 points, while Scottie Thompson and Kevin Ferrer each contributed 12 points as the Kings in the final stretch of their build-up for the coming Philippine Cup.
Also making a good account of themselves in the tune-up were Jervy Cruz and rookie Teytey Teodoro. Cruz, who was hounded by injuries in the Governors' Cup, had nine points, while Teodoro, who was signed up to a one-conference deal with the Kings, had eight including two triples.
The Gin Kings will be playing on opening day on Sunday against TNT at the Philippine Arena.
Jason Perkins had 16 points, while Doug Kramer added 12 for Phoenix. Calvin Abueva and LA Revilla each had 10 for the Fuel Masters, who rested Matthew Wright in the tune-up.
