Ginebra's season is summed up by two finals defeats to TNT, which is also slated to start its grand slam quest with a training camp at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna.
The 2021 MVP has a bright outlook for the Gin Kings in the Philippine Cup.
“Looking forward kami sa all-Filipino. But for now, we have to work. Meron pa kaming time to practice and gel more para makapag-adjust,” said Thompson.
Before the two finals appearances in Season 49 (2024-2025), the Gin Kings reached the semifinals of the Philippine Cup, and came one win away from advancing to the finals only to lose the final two games of the series to Meralco.
Aside from the TNT and Meralco, also standing in the way of Ginebra’s championship bid is San Miguel, which is determined to make up after failing to make it to the Commissioner’s Cup playoffs.
