AMID a probable coronavirus case involving a player, Barangay Ginebra and Magnolia clash inside the bubble in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena and Cultural Center.
The match is at 6:45 p.m., the only game of the day following the decision of the league to postpone the tiff between Rain or Shine and Blackwater due to a positive came involving an Elite player.
The PBA’s hottest rivalry will be held under a unique environment as it will be held with no spectators, but head coach Tim Cone said the anticipation remains the same.
“I think that both teams really get up for the Manila Clasico. There’s no doubt about it. I don’t have to say great words to motivate because they are automatically motivated. It’s a great rivalry. It’s a fun rivalry. I know how it is like for both sides. It’s really a great rivalry,” said Cone, who goes into the rivalry with a 4-0 win-loss record.
Ginebra is seeking a share of the lead with TNT, which is holding a 5-0 win-loss card in the team standings.
The Gin Kings’ last match came three days ago, but Cone said there is no such thing as break inside the PBA bubble.
“There are no days off in the bubble. If you take a full dayoff then your guys are going to lay in their beds all day. Everyday, we are going to get our guys out and do something whether it be into the workouts or get into practice, we practice literally everyday. We just manage our practices in a proper way that we don’t wear guys down,” said Cone.
Magnolia will play Ginebra looking to break a three-game losing streak. They lost a 17-point lead to bow to Phoenix Super LPG last Friday, 91-84.
