BARANGAY Ginebra is set to sign sweet-shooting big man Norbert Torres to shore up its frontcourt for the PBA Season 50.
The Kings acquired the services of the 35-year-old Torres, who became an unrestricted free agent following his stint with the Meralco Bolts.
A Spin.ph source said the 6-foot-6 Fil-Canadian already got a verbal offer from Ginebra management.

“Alam ko may usapan na sila. Kaya diyan di papunta yan,” added the source.
Meralco coach Luigi Trillo confirmed Torres’ exit from the team during the final day of the PBA Draft Combine on Friday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
“I think Norbert is about to sign with a PBA team,” Trillo said without specifying the team where the De La Salle product is headed.

But Trillo said he was proud of the way Torres embraced his role with the Bolts during his time with the team that acquired him in a trade with Rain or Shine for Mac Belo.
Torres was an integral part of the Meralco unit that won its first ever PBA championship in 2024 when it upset defending champion San Miguel Beer in six games of the Philippine Cup finals.
He was originally a first-round selection of the Star Hotshots (now Magnolia) in the 2015 draft, and later had stints with Phoenix, TNT, Rain or Shine, and Meralco.
Torres had his longest stint with Rain or Shine from 2018-2023 and had his best season average of 6.5 points and 2.8 rebounds during his final season with the franchise.
