BARANGAY Ginebra and Blackwater clash on Saturday in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Davao Del Sur Coliseum in Digos City.
The Gin Kings will be playing their second out-of-town game of the conference against the Elite in their Petron Saturday Special match at 5 p.m.
Ginebra snapped a two-game losing run last week, beating Columbian, 97-85, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City to improve its record to 2-2.
Ginebra coach Tim Cone admitted their recent schedule has been tough, playing once a week including two out-of-town games.
“It’s been a tough schedule. We only play once a week. The practices are getting a little stale. It’s hard to keep the energy going. And then, we have to go out and travel,” Cone said.
Scottie Thompson is expected to go all-out for the match as he will be playing in front of his hometown fans.
Saturday’s game will be the last for Ginebra as approaches the Fiba Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers break.
Blackwater, meanwhile, has lost two straight games to fall to 1-4. The Elite dropped a 93-79 decision against San Miguel last Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
