BARAKO Bull dropped a 76-84 setback to Kuwait’s Al Sahel and settled for fourth place at the close of the 2nd Al Shabab Basketball Championship on Saturday night in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Energy Cola drew 24 points from import Michael Singletary but the Rajko Toroman-mentored Barako Bull failed to contain Anthony Green, who banged in a game-high 32 points to lead Al Sahel’s onslaught.
Abdullah Al Shammari added 16 for the Kuwait-based squad in the battle for third place.
Barako Bull had it finals bid shot down following a 80-91 loss to Hoops of Lebanon in Friday night’s semifinal encounter.
Toroman said they are using the Dubai tournament as part of the team’s preparation for the PBA Governors Cup set to start on August 14.
Meanwhile, host team Al Shabab bagged the championship after blasting Hoops of Lebanon, 90-75 in the final. Import Joseph Taylor led Al Shabab with 24 points.
