BARAKO Bull team manager Raffy Casyao on Tuesday confirmed that the blockbuster trade involving five teams and 10 players has been forwarded to the PBA Commissioner's Office for review and approval.
The proposed trade will have Barako Bull getting four solid veterans in playmaker Jonas Villanueva, high-flying swingmen JC Intal and Allein Maliksi, as well as reserve guard Jojo Duncil.
Under the trade proposal set to be studied by commissioner Chito Salud, Casyao explained that Petron gives up No. 3 rookie pick Alex mallari and Duncil to Barako Bull in exchange for energetic guard Ronald tubid.
The Energy Cola will then ship Mallari, Leo Najorda, rookie guard Lester Alvarez and their 2014 first-round pick to the Mixers in exchange for Villanueva, Intal and rookie forward Aldrech Ramos, who in turn will be traded to Alaska for Mac Baracael.
The sweet-shooting Baracael will end up with Barangay Ginebra as the league's most popular team will give up Maliksi to Barako Bull.
Tubid and Maliksi were made to sit out the Barako-Ginebra tune-up game on Tuesday at the Xavier gym, a sign that the proposed five-team, 10-player trade is almost a done deal.
Casyao said the deal is a "win-win" situation for the five teams involved considering that every ball club gets the players it needs in the run-up to the Commissioner's Cup.
"All teams involved are in a win-win situation. Siyempre makakatulong din yung mga makukuha naming mga bagong playera if ever ma-approve na ni commissioner ang mga trades," Casyao told Spin.ph shortly after Barako Bull dropped a 90-97 decision to Ginebra in their tune-up game at the Xavier gym.
