CHRIS Banchero formally joins Magnolia after the PBA Commissioner's Office gave a samp of approval on the two-in-one trade with Alaska on Sunday.
Commissioner Willie Marcial said a trade that will have the Aces receiving Robbie Herndon and Rodney Brondial in exchange for Banchero has been given the all clear by the four-man trade committee.
The approval came just after Marcial also sanctioned the deal that sent Blackwater rookie Bobby Ray Parks to TnT Katropa in exchange for Don Trollano, Anthony Semerad, and a 2021 first round draft pick.
Alaska coach Jeffrey Cariaso said he believed both Herndon and Brondial will fit in to the Aces' system.
"I really feel this trade will help us," he said following the team's 106-99 win over NorthPort Sunday in the PBA Governors Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
"To get something, you always have to give up something."
Banchero was no longer a show in the Aces' game against the Batang PIer.
"Ayaw lang namin siya ma-injured. We didn't want Chris risking," said Cariaso. "And on our side, we want the trade to go through so we don't want to give them an injured player."
