JUSTINE Baltazar won’t be the only player from the Pampanga Giant Lanterns who will play for the team until the end of the ongoing MPBL season.
The ballclub posted on its Facebook page that Baltazar, Brandon Ramirez, Kurt Reyson, and Ronan Santos will also be fulfilling their live contracts with the Giant Lanterns before joining their respective PBA teams which drafted them.
The social media post essentially made it official that Baltazar will only play for Converge after the end of Pampanga's campaign in the MPBL.
Baltazar was selected No. 1 by Converge during the PBA Draft, but could join the team as late as December if the team reaches the finals. The Giant Lanterns have a 16-1 win-loss record ahead of their Wednesday's match against Binan.
Ramirez and Reyson were picked in the second round at No. 18 and No. 23 by NLEX and Meralco respectively.
Santos was the first pick in the third round and went at No. 25 when he was selected by Converge, arranging a possible team-up again with Baltazar in the PBA.
Baltazar is in line for a second straight MPBL MVP where he is averaging 14.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.2 steals.
Reyson is averaging 8.7 points, the team’s fourth leading scorer behind Baltazar, Archie Concepcion, and Encho Serrano, to go along with 4.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists for the Giant Lanterns.
Ramirez has only played four games for the Giant Lanterns as of posting time, joining the team after the PBA 3x3 was shut down.
Santos has numbers of 3.9 points and 3.4 rebounds for Pampanga.
