RENALDO Balkman and Joe Devance shrugged off their altercation during halftime of Game Four of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals, saying it was normal in an intense championship series.

Balkman and Devance figured in a shoving match as they entered the tunnel leading to the Smart Araneta Coliseum dugouts at halftime, triggering a commotion that had security men and teammates jumping in to restore order.

The San Miguel import played down the incident.

“Nothing really,” said Balkman “It was what it was. I tried to get into my dugout. He tried to get into his. He was in the way. But it’s all good.”

“I’m still smiling at the end of the day. We have another one this Sunday. That’s all I have to say,” said the Puerto Rican national player. “I mean, it was nothing. At the end of the day, nothing happened.”

      Devance echoed Balkman's sentiments.

“It was no big deal. Just a little pushing,” said Devance. “There were no punches thrown or anything like that. Emotions are going to be high. That’s all it was.”

Devance said he understands Balkman’s reaction during the incident.

“He is an emotional guy. He is a great player. He played in the NBA. That’s very passionate. We’ve been cool the whole time. It’s just part of being in the finals. I’m not worried about that. No big deal,” said Devance.
