ALTHOUGH Talk N’ Text fans label him as an enemy of the TnTnation, Cyrus Baguio is not a dirty player in the eyes of PBA Commissioner Chito Salud.
Salud and Baguio were set to meet before lunch on Thursday, and penalties if any were yet to be decided, but in an interview with Spin.ph the PBA chief revealed that he has reviewed several times the video tapes of the game, especially the part where Baguio gave Jason Castro a hard elbow shot.
Asked if he sees Baguio as a dirty player, Salud responded: “No, I don’t think Cyrus is a dirty player. I have not seen any indication that he is a dirty player.”
Talk N’ Text is asking Salud to suspend Baguio for what they deemed as an assault on their player.
Alaska Coach Luigi Trillo, however, thinks otherwise saying: “Cyrus has never had a background like that. It was a duty foul. I would be shocked if the Commissioner took out Cyrus.”
Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with spin.ph while on his way to the PBA office in Libis, Baguio bared that it was his aim to give a hard foul but stressed that he has no intention to hurt Castro.
“Talagang ayaw ko lang siyang bigyan ng continuation nun. Kaso masyadong mabilis si Jason, kaya instead na bola ang tatamaan ko ulo na niya,” said Baguio.
“Bakit ko naman sasaktan si Jason, eh pareho kaming under kay Boss Danny,” added Baguio, referring to player agent Danny Espiritu.
At the same time, Baguio also revealed that he has already asked Espiritu, to extend his apology to Castro.
“Tinawagan ko talaga agad si Boss Danny, pinapasabi ko na i-sorry ako kay Jason. Hindi ko talaga sadya, never ako nanakit ng kapwa player, lalo na ng kasama sa agency,” Baguio said, adding that he does not have Castro’s mobile phone number.
Aside from Baguio, Calvin Abueva, Sonny Thoss, Gabby Espinas and Talk n' Text stars Jared Dillinger and Kelly Williams were also invited to the PBA office.
