DESPITE going through rough times, coach Aldin Ayo said Converge didn’t lose hope and continue to play for that breakthrough win in the PBA Philippine Cup.
“We didn’t lose hope when the losses were piling up. The more these players, actually the whole team, losses, the more that we’re motivated (to win),” said Ayo.

On Sunday, the FiberXers finally stopped the bleeding as they stunned the Meralco Bolts, 104-99, to make it to the win column even though the team is already out of the running for a playoffs berth.
Converge lost its first eight games this conference - a skid that actually stretched to 12 straight games dating back to the last Commissioner’s Cup.
The last time the franchise won was on Dec. 13 last year, a 104-93 overtime victory over Terrafirma.
What followed was a four-month drought for a franchise that was a consistent playoff contender right in its very first season.
Through all these, Ayo kept his faith in the team.

“Hindi mo makikita sa mga players, sa team namin na low morale, e. Even though ganito yung standings namin, we’re looking for reasons to enjoy this game and just have fun,” said the champion coach from Letran and La Salle.
Already out of it all, Ayo is looking to carry the momentum of the victory over Meralco going in Converge’s last two games against Barangay Ginebra in Cagayan De Oro and TNT.
“We’re just going to compete. We want to end this conference on a high note,” he added. “We have nothing to lose.”
