PROOF that they are one with their fallen comrade, the NLEX Road Warriors wore a small patch on their playing jersey as tribute to injured teammate Kevin Alas.
The patch had the words ‘KEVIN STRONG’ in capital letters sandwiching Alas’ No. 6.
All the Road Warriors wore the patch on the upper left side of their uniform during their PBA Philippine Cup game against Phoenix Pulse on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Alas has been ruled out of the season after going down with another ACL tear on the same right knee he injured last season.
The 27-year-old Alas hurt the knee during the team’s 87-83 win over the Meralco Bolts in last week’s PBA Philippine Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Alas wasn’t around during the game against Phoenix, which was coached by his father Louie Alas.
The point guard out of Letran is set to undergo surgery on Saturday.
