PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said he will summon San Miguel star Arwind Santos and import Renaldo Balkman after altercations marred the endgame of the Beermen's 134-109 win over Ginebra in Game Two of the PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals.
Santos was ejected late in the final quarter after being called for a flagrant foul penalty 2 for a shoulder to the solar plexus of Scottie Thompson that sent the Ginebra guard falling to the floor in pain on Sunday night.
The former league MVP argued his case after the game, saying the hit was no more than a regular foul.
Initial reviews showed Santos may be right, making a fine or any other penalty unlikely.
Marcial, however, said any decision will still depend on the final recommendation of his technical staff led by supervisor Erik Castro.
Marcial said he will also summon Balkman, who was in the middle of a scrum late in the game but never got into any altercation serious enough to merit a technical.
"Kakausapin ko lang," said Marcial, who granted Balkman a pardon from the life ban slapped on the import for choking Santos during a 2013 game.
Marcial said he found no need to summon Chris Ross and Joe Devance, who also figured in verbal sparring that led to the former's ejection on a second technical.
