MADAM Auring, is that you?
Arwind Santos' bold prediction that San Miguel will meet Ginebra in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals has come true, but the former league MVP isn't about to gloat.
"Tama hula ko," he said in jest.
Santos insisted his prediction is just that — a prediction, saying he truly felt that the Gin Kings had the upper hand in their semifinal series against Rain or Shine.
"Ewan ko nga eh. Ayoko na magsalita kasi nami-misinterpret ako eh," he said, obviously referring to the reaction of Rain or Shine alternate team governor Edison Oribiana who labelled his statements as 'arrogant and disrespectful.'
The outspoken Kapampangan, however, didn't hesitate to apologize if parties, especially those from the Elasto Painters camp, took offense to his opinion.
"Basta ako, pasensya na. Ayaw natin na makasakit at magkaroon ng issue, ng mga away-away na ganyan. Wala naman tayong intensyon na makasakit. Prediction lang yun," he said.
As for the championship duel with Ginebra starting on Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Santos isn't willing to hand out any forecast just yet.
"Wala pa so far," he chuckled while also saying that contrary to the memes, hindi siya advanced mag-isip.
"Basta kami, may goal kaming target at magi-stick kami sa goal namin," he said. "Hahanap at hahanap kami ng paraan para makuha namin yung goal na yun."
