CALASIAO, Pangasinan—Arwind Santos pulled off the so-called ‘Spiderman dunk’ in front of fans who watched the PBA All-Star Game on Sunday at the Calasiao Sports Complex in Pangasinan.
Santos performed the dunk that has been outlawed by the league in the second quarter with the emphatic two-pointer giving the North All-Stars a 53-29 lead in the second quarter.
The ‘Spiderman dunk’ was recently been banned by the PBA, and doing such will merit a sanction by the league. The league banned the dunk due to reports reaching the PBA that the ‘Spiderman dunk’ is being done in substandard courts by players trying to emulate Santos’ dunk.
But PBA commissioner Willie Marcial assured Santos will not be penalized for his action being an All-Star game.
“For fun,” said Marcial, with a smile.
