HARVEST season came to an end for San Miguel Beer as it saw its PBA grand slam aspirations in tatters following a stunning 104-84 loss to Barangay Ginebra in their Governors’ Cup quarterfinal matchup on Wednesday night.

Arwind Santos compared the Beermen to farmers after SMB’s championship haul ended with two, falling short of a third one following an abrupt exit in the first round of the playoffs.

Santos was one of those at fault. Coming in averaging 17.6 points built around three three-pointers per game in the eliminations, the former MVP was held to just six points as he didn’t even take a single three-point attempt against the Gin Kings on Wednesday night.

But Santos insists they weren’t overconfident against the Gin Kings.

Santos, though, is still satisfied with their two championships this season.

“Oo naman,” the six-time champion said.

“At least kami, two of three, not bad,” he added. “Kung lagi-laging ganun ang mangyayari – masaktan kami, basta two of three, sobrang thank you kami.”

Santos admitted they are disappointed of losing grip of a rare chance, but is looking forward to next season where they try to accomplish what they failed to do this season.
