BACOLOD – For the first time in a long while, Arwind Santos won’t be participating in the PBA All-Star Game, and it’s not only limited to being a player.
The 12-time All-Star is no longer in the PBA after he opted to sign with Pampanga during last year’s MPBL season instead of staying with NorthPort.

It also ended a run of four consecutive PBA All-Star appearances for Santos, who never failed to dazzle fans with his moves on the court but also with his dancing feet.
Over the years, Santos has been usually selected as a choreographer and lead dancer for his team during the traditional dance-off prior to tip-off of the PBA All-Star Game.
Santos would have been helpful to the team of Japeth Aguilar, who admitted his team still had to hire a choreographer for the dance-off.
Incidentally, Santos was the chorographer of Team Japeth during last year’s All-Stars in Passi, Iloilo, and Aguilar said Santos could have been valuable in the dance-off that has a cash prize in store for the winning team.
“Last year, si Arwind ‘yung nagdala sa amin,” said Aguilar, whose team not only won the All-Star Game but also the dance-off.
“To be honest, oo,” said Aguilar, when asked if they also miss Santos. “Kasi talagang kung mabigyan kayo ng chance na makasama si Arwind, siniseryoso niya ‘yung mga ganitong event. Seryoso siya sa sayaw niya. Pati sa props actually.”
Aguilar said his team is definitely the underdog in the dance-off as Mark Barroca’s squad has a stacked roster for the pre-All-Star event.
“Sa dance-off, nasa kanila na ‘yung mga dancers. Sila Jio [Jalalon], sila Calvin [Abueva], tapos kapag sumayaw pa si June Mar [Fajardo], panalo na sila. Sa amin, kahit papano, tinry kong kumuha choreographer para maayos kami,” said Aguilar.
