ARWIND Santos insisted he had no regrets after missing a close-range shot that could’ve sealed the win for San Miguel Beer in its 97-96 loss to Ginebra in Game Four of their PBA Governors’ Cup semifinal series on Friday night.
With the Beermen up by one, the SMB star caught a pass from Marcio Lassiter in transition before taking and missing a close-range stab over Sol Mercado with still 19 seconds left in a play where they could’ve milked the clock dry instead and drew a foul.
“No, bakit ko pagsisisihan yun?
“As a player, kayang-kaya ko i-handle yung mga ganyan,” he added.
Santos’ bad decision - and botched shot - negated the two go-ahead jumpers he knocked down for SMB in two previous possessions.
God is good at na-shoot lang nila.”
“Pero hindi lagi sa kanila,” he added. “Baka malay mo, Game Four, kami naman.”
