IF it looked like Arwind Santos was a man on a mission on Sunday night, it's because he was.
The 2013 PBA MVP hit seven of 11 three-point attempts en route to a game-high 29 points to go with four rebounds, and two assists in San Miguel's 113-92 victory over Magnolia in the PBA Philippine Cup.
His motivation? Well, the Kapampangan forward just wanted to make up for his measly performance the last time out against Blackwater.
"Bumawi lang ako. Talagang nag-double effort ako dahil nanalo nga kami noong last game namin pero hindi ako satisfied sa performance ko noon kaya talagang nag-gym ako at nag-shooting," he said, looking back to that four-point effort in the Beermen's 93-79 victory over the Elite last Wednesday where he shot 2-of-9 from the field.
More importantly, Santos was happy to see the Beermen back on the same page to improve to 4-3 win-loss.
Santos said it is no coincidence that the Beermen regained their old form now that their core group is back to full fitness, with Alex Cabagnot looking sharp coming off a hamstring injury, and Marcio Lassiter and Chris Ross recovering from a bout with the flu.
Nagagawa namin ulit yung mga dati naming nagagawa," he said.
Santos is confident the Beermen have finally turned the corner.
