ARVIN Tolentino has yet to reach the status as the new face of Northport Batang Pier.
But he’s slowly getting there, according to coach Bonnie Tan.
“Arvin is a potential player who can replace the spot na iniwan ni Robert Bolick,” said Tan on Sunday after the Batang Pier eked out a close 104-100 win over the hard-fighting Terrafirma Dyip in the PBA on Tour at the Ynares Sports Arena.

Bolick used to be Northport's top gun, but has since chosen to take his act to the Japan B.League, leaving the team without a go-to-guy especially in the endgame.
The 27-year-old Tolentino though, needs to improve one aspect of his game, according to the NorthPort coach.
“Sa ngayon, we’re still looking for consistency,” said Tan of the 6-foot-5 forward, who he added needs to be consistent in his point production.
Against the Dyip, Tolentino was steady for the Batang Pier the entire game and came to their rescue when they needed him most.
He scored Northport’s last seven points including a huge three-pointer with 1:35 to play to put the Batang Pier on top for good, 100-99.

The Gilas Pilipinas stalwart finished with a game-high 28 points, nine rebounds, and two assists, while shooting 50 percent from the field (10-of-20).
Northport evened its record in the preseason at 4-4.
