CONVERGE just lost two of its big men to injuries and has now lost two games in a row in the PBA Governors’ Cup.
The FiberXers were without starting center Justin Arana going to their game against the Meralco Bolts Wednesday night, and then lost back-up Patrick Maagdenberg along the way in a 116-88 loss at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Arana is nursing a sprained ankle he suffered in the team’s previous game against Northport.

The former Rookie of the Year is averaging 13.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in four games in the conference.
“Na-sprain niya yung ankle (right) niya last game namin,” said Converge deputy coach Willie Miller. “Hindi pa siya nakapag-practice sa amin kasi may konting maga pa yung paa.”
The FiberXers’ frontcourt was further decimated early in the second quarter when the burly Maagdenberg hyperextended his right knee.
“Na-hyperextend yung tuhod niya kaya hindi na rin nakabalik,” Miller said of the sophomore power forward.
The 6-foot-5 Maagdenberg hurt his knee while running after the rushing CJ Cansino before going down to the floor while clutching his right knee and writhing in pain.

He had to be carried back to the Converge bench and didn’t return to the game.
Maagdenberg had four points and two rebounds before injuring his knee while playing 10 minutes as a starter in place of the 6-foot-7 Arana.
Converge fell to a 2-3 standings in Group A just above winless Terrafirma (0-4).
