TWO days after being rushed to a hospital from the Smart Araneta Coliseum for profuse nose bleeding, the mother of San Miguel Beer star forward Arwind Santos has been declared out of danger.
Except for high plood pressure, Santos’ mother, Araceli, is already in stable condition and recovering at the Marikina Valley Medical Center, though her throat and ulcer are under still under observation.
The cause of the bleeding has yet to be determined by doctors, the player added.
“Okay na naman si mama, under observation lang siya sa ulcer at throat niya, kasi inaalam pa kung saan galing yung dugo na lumabas sa ilong niya,” the former PBA Most Valuable Player told Spin.ph on Friday.
The 33-year-old San Miguel forward said he had his mother transferred from World Citi Medical Center in Quezon City to the Marikina hospital because she already has an existing medical record there.
“Gabi pa lang (on Wednesday), nilipat ko na siya sa Marikina kasi nandun yung doktor na tumututok sa kanya,” he added.
Santos said blood flowed out of her mother’s nose while cheering for the Beermen in the third quarter of the Beermen's lopsided loss to Talk 'N Text in the PBA Commissioner's Cup on Wednesday.
The game was disrupted for close to 10 minutes as medical personnel attended to Santos’ mother, who was placed on a stretcher and wheeled out of the Big Dome to a waiting ambulance.
Talk ‘N Text was ahead, 76-58 with more than five minutes to go in the third period when the incident happened.
