JAYLEN Johnson apologized for his actions on Friday after throwing a punch at Glenn Khobuntin during their intense match-up in the PBA 50th Season Commissioner's Cup.

Johnson and Khobuntin exchanged blows during a highly-physical play with 6:20 left in the fourth quarter of Rain or Shine's 112-109 win over TNT.

The Rain or Shine import claimed that it was Khobuntin who hit him first.

“I really don't know what happened. I thought we was playing good basketball. Next thing you know, I tried to get position. And then, out of nowhere, he hit me. It was an intense play,” said Johnson.

Johnson felt nothing happened between the two prior to the punching incident that warranted punches to be thrown.

“He (Khobuntin) is a cool dude. It was really no animosity all game. I don't know what happened. Sometimes, I have to hold my emotions. Like I said, I'm a natural guy. He hit me first. I didn't what it to happen but it happened, how it happened,” he mentioned.

“I'm sorry that it happened. It won't happen again. I guess that's a lesson learned. I heard the PBA was physical. I didn't know it was like that. In the future, I'll be better with the situation,” he added.

“Whatever happens, it's lesson learned like I said. I want to apologize to the PBA. That's not the character that I want to show. It happened, like I said,” said Johnson.

“Sorry to me. Sorry to the team. Sorry to him (Khobuntin) too. That's not the image I'm trying to portray,’’ Johnson said.
